Offer to have a Family

I was single average looking at best and at 43 still single, great career and financially well off. I've never been comfortable with women in personal conversations; I've had dates that didn't lead to relationships, so I gave up on finding a wife. In March of 2023 a new woman 29 started at my workplace, at first her job was temporary. But another woman left to move interstate, so she was made permanent. She was struggling financially, mainly due to the pandemic losing most of her family. Medical and funeral costs all fell to her, not dating due to working extra jobs to pay off the debts. We were put together to do a project, which meant travelling interstate. We got to know each other, and she soon picked up on my awkwardness in personal conversation with women. At first, she tried ease my awkwardness, but it dawned on her I was her way forward to a better life. We worked well together, neither of us in any relationship. Seeing my reactions to children realized I would like a family, as did she. After our return she kept thinking about maybe I would be a perfect husband for her. Knowing I would never ask her out on a date, she asked me. We did enjoy ourselves, so after several dates she made the offer of marriage to me telling all about her financial woes and wanting a family. At first, I was slightly shocked, but not as shocked as I thought I should've been. Thinking it over I agreed, and we married September 2024. She quickly got pregnant by November 2024; we're having a son shortly. I paid off her debts and with less stress in her life her and my relationship got stronger, I was promoted in December 2024 and was now entitled to a fulltime assistant, no prizes for guessing who I chose. My awkwardness with personal conversations including women have lessen quite a bit, mainly because my wife is with me and handles most of the talking.
